Miguel Duro Moreno (Spain) graduated in Translation and Interpreting at the Universidad de Granada. Later on, he gained a master’s degree and a Ph. D. degree in Translation and a bachelor's and a master's degree in Semitic studies (Arabic) from the same institution. In 2000 he was appointed as sworn (officially certified) translator/interpreter for the English language by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ten years later he was accredited as Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) by the Spanish official accreditation authorities. In 2019 he joined Woolf University as Associate Professor in Translation and Interpreting and Dean at Hieronymus College (Honorary Dean as of 1 October, 2021). For more than thirty years he has combined the professional practice of translation with the teaching and research thereof in many a university across three continents. His research interests lie mainly in the fields of Comparative Law (applied to Legal Translation and Sworn Translation), Disruptive Technologies applied to Translation, and Coseriu’s Linguistics as a translation model. He has published extensively on these topics and is the editor of the DERECHO, DISCURSO Y TRADUCCIÓN series at the law publishing house Edisofer (Madrid, Spain). He is a proud member of APTIJ, a Spain-based professional association focusing on Legal Translation, Sworn Translation/Interpreting, and Court Interpreting.

Claudia E. Stoian, Ph.D., is a lecturer at the Politehnica University of Timișoara, where she teaches Translation, Discourse Analysis, Pragmatics, Communication Mediation and English as a Foreign Language. She is an assistant editor for two academic journals, a member of the scientific board of a prestigious publishing house from abroad, as well as a translator and interpreter.



Claudia E. Stoian authored or co-authored two books, four dictionaries, five chapters in edited volumes, numerous scientific articles in national and international academic journals and several translations. Her research interests include applied linguistics, interpreting, translation, tourism, interculturality and didactics.

Miguel Ángel Candel-Mora

Miguel Angel Candel has a bachelor's degree in English Philology from the Universidad de Valencia, a Masters Degree in Translation from Kent State University, and holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. For the last 25 years he has worked as a translator actively involved in the localization industry. His academic interests focus on translation-oriented bilingual terminology management, computational terminology, computer-assisted translation, information retrieval, corpus-based translation, and text mining.

Julia Lobato

Julia Lobato Patricio is at present a senior lecturer in Translation at the Department of Languages and Translation, Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO, Seville) where she has taught and developed her research since 2009. She completed her PhD with a Thesis entitled “Deontological and Professional Aspects of Legal, Sworn and Court Translation” in 2008 at the University of Málaga which received the extraordinary doctorate award.



Since 2005 she is an official translator and interpreter of English-Spanish authorized by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has also published some papers and works on the deontological dimension of translation and interpreting, on legal translation and on translation teaching among others. From 2005 to September 2017 she was a member of the research group HUM 767 on Translation, Communication and Applied Linguistics (University of Málaga). At present, she is a member of the Interglosia Research Group (HUM-996) at the University Pablo de Olavide.

Guillermina Inés Remiro

Guillermina Inés Remiro (Argentina) es traductora pública nacional en lengua inglesa y profesora de lengua y literatura inglesas, títulos obtenidos en la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación (FaHCE) de la Universidad Nacional de la Plata (UNLP), Argentina. Ha cursado la maestría en Traducción y se encuentra desarrollando su tesis sobre didáctica en traducción jurídica en la Universidad de Belgrano. En la FaHCE, se desempeña como profesora en las clases teórico-prácticas de “Gramática Comparada Castellano-Inglés”, y en las clases prácticas de “Traducción Jurídica y Económica 1” (inglés) y “Gramática Inglesa 2”. Ha participado en varios proyectos de investigación y actualmente es miembro del proyecto tetraanual Estudios de derecho comparado: ¿herramienta o método para la traducción jurídica y la didáctica de la traducción en Argentina?, radicado en el Laboratorio de Investigaciones en Traductología, dependiente del Instituto de Investigaciones en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales. Isabel Granda Rossi

Isabel Granda Rossi, licenciada en Filología inglesa por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid y doctora en Filología inglesa por la UNED de Madrid en 2016, lleva más de 20 años dedicándose a la enseñanza de la lengua inglesa en el ámbito universitario. Ha impartido docencia en Skidmore College (Nueva York), Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad Internacional de Valencia y Universidad Complutense de Madrid donde trabaja actualmente, impartiendo asignaturas de grado y máster relacionadas con inglés para fines específicos, así como asignaturas especializadas en el ámbito de la traducción. Su trayectoria académica y profesional más reciente ha estado centrada en la enseñanza e investigación del inglés para fines específicos y la evaluación de la producción oral en el ámbito del turismo y general, utilizando la simulación o técnicas dramáticas.

José Manuel Muñoz Muñoz

José Manuel Muñoz graduated in English Philology at the Universidad de Granada, Spain, and obtained his Ph.D. at the Universidad de Córdoba, Spain. Since 1987 he has taught Applied Linguistics at the latter higher education institution, with a special interest in Linguistics and the use of technology for the study of natural language and specifically for Translation. He has also taught courses on MT and CAT tools and their impact on professional Translation.

María Ángeles Orts Llopis

María Ángeles Orts Llopis has taught and translated professional English since the beginning of her career, including especially the areas of law, economics and trade. In these areas, she has taught and coordinated numerous postgraduate courses in several international and national institutions and universities and has published extensively in international journals and monographs.



Over the course of the 30 years of her professional career, which began as a translator-interpreter in Navantia (Cartagena) and at the service of the Egyptian Embassy for the development of various contracts and agreements for the sale of warships to that country, Orts has given seminars, conferences and plenary presentations on the translation of legal discourse, on the discourse on economics and business and its translation, and on Shipping Business in institutions such as ENAE (Escuela de Negocios of Murcia), the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia, the UPC (Universidad Politécnica de Murcia), the UPC (Universidad Politécnica de Catalonia), the Pompeu Fabra University and the University of Vaasa, in Finland, among others.



She has been a visiting professor at Brooklyn Law School in New York, and at the IIT (Illinois Institute of Technology) in Chicago, as well as in the Department of Business and Communication of the University of Aarhus (Denmark), CERLIS, or Language Research Centre at the University of Bergamo, and the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen (NHH).

Her current research revolves the economic and legal lexicon of the global systemic crisis (part two, 2020-2021), the translation of crimes of corruption and gender-based violence, the expression of power and legitimacy in legal texts, and the expression of the emotion (appraisal theory and sentiment analysis) in the discourse of laws and economic reports. At the moment she is the Coordinator of the Master and Doctorate courses at her Faculty.

Daina Escobedo Lora obtuvo la licenciatura en Letras en la Universidad de Oriente (Santiago de Cuba) en el 2007 y el de maestría en Enseñanza del español como lengua extranjera en el 2013 en la misma institución. Desde que culminó sus estudios ha estado directamente vinculada a la docencia en la carrera de Lengua inglesa, en la que imparte las asignaturas de Gramática española, Estilística española, Introducción a los estudios lingüísticos I y II, Práctica integral de la lengua española I y II y Lingüística general aplicada a la traducción.

Hanna Schulze

Hanna Schulze is a university professor of German, French, and Italian. Since 2019 she teaches foreign languages at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (Madrid, Spain) within the European Erasmus program. Hanna graduated in Modern Languages and Literature at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain, in 2015. She finished her master's degree in Education in 2016 at the same higher education institution.

María Laura Spoturno

María Laura Spoturno is Associate Professor of Literary Translation and US American Literature at Universidad Nacional de La Plata and a Researcher with the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas in Argentina. She is the principal investigator of the research project and group “Escrituras de minorías, ethos y (auto) traducción” (H/825, 2017-2020). Her current research focuses on the study of subjectivity in so–called minority literatures and (self) (re) translation practices, and the relation between translation, gender and feminisms. Her most recent publications include the edited monograph Escrituras de minorías, heterogeneidad y traducción (FaHCE, UNLP, 2018) and a collaborative translation of Seymour Mayne’s poetry in four languages (Wind and Wood/ Viento y madera… Malisia, 2018).

Her experience in working with clients spans across all types of content types and markets. She enjoys implementing appropriate localization solutions to help clients communicate with their buyers worldwide.



Outside of work, Joanna enjoys spending time with people passionate about localization. She can be found attending various conferences either as a listener or as a speaker.

Jeanette Zaragoza

Jeanette Zaragoza De León earned a PhD in Applied Languages, Literature and Translation from Universitat Jaume I (UJI) in Spain.



Jeanette Zaragoza De León earned a PhD in Applied Languages, Literature and Translation from Universitat Jaume I (UJI) in Spain. She also holds an M. Div. from Pacific School of Religion, an MA in Translation from the University of Puerto Rico, and an MA in Research in Translation and Interpretation Studies from the UJI. The title of her dissertation, “The Critical Translation and Interpreting Stories of The Amistad Case,” points to the crucial role of interpreters and translators in the continuum of slavery and colonialism in the 19th century. Her interdisciplinary research and academic interest involve History of Interpreting and Translation, professional development, and ethnographies. She has worked for over 10 years as both an interpreter (Span/Eng) in myriad settings, as a certified as a Court Interpreter for the New York and New Jersey State Courts. As translator, she has translated differenct types of documents including translating and editing TED talks. Additionally, Dra. Zaragoza-De León is certified Medical/Healthcare Interpreter with CCHI and CMI with vast experience in Remote-Video Interpreting. Last year, she taught Translation and Interpreting and Latinx Studies at Westfield State University. Previously, she has taught interpreting and translation at New York University and of Hunter College. She is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Caribbean and Latin American Studies at the University of Kansas and an Instructor at the Department of Translation at the University of Puerto Rico.
